PROGRAMS

New Breed was born out of the desire to create a jiu-jitsu academy that incorporates various grappling styles into what is traditionally known as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our academy fosters a culture of community through encouragement, camaraderie, and respect. We strive to create an environment that is welcoming and builds students’ confidence and integrity, so students are equipped with skills to overcome any challenge they may face. We are a New Breed, an evolution of our past.

PROGRAM INFO

ADULT NO-GI CLASS
No-Gi Jiu-jitsu combines the practices of traditional wrestling with the techniques of jiu-jitsu. Although a student can easily adapt most Gi techniques to No-Gi training, the No-Gi practitioner must learn how to control their opponent without the use of the “Gi” or “Kimono”. Stripping the practitioner of Gi allows for a faster paced game, which demands speed and control from both participants.
Furthermore, this game is easily translatable to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) practice and competition. Workout attire without pockets or hard plastic/metals attachments or zippers is appropriate. A form fitting top is preferred over loose-fitting clothing where fingers and toes can easily become tangled and lead to injuries.
Adult No-Gi Class Format
Our No-Gi classes benefit everyone from beginner to advanced level jiu-jitsu athletes. Each class will start with conditioning and solo-movement drills to warm up. After the warm up, we then move to a quick technique-focused game before beginning the day’s lesson. To gain confidence with the technique of the day, we drill and perform low resistance situational sparring from its position or scenario. To conclude the class, we end with jiu-jitsu sparring rounds.
ADULT ALL LEVELS CLASS
Our All Levels jiu-jitsu curriculum takes the fundamentals and adds more takedowns, pins, positions, submissions, escapes, guard sweeps, guard passing, and overall strategy to win a grappling match. This class is attended by all belt levels and allows everyone from beginner to advanced to grab key takeaways to add to their jiu-jitsu game.
